Lollapalooza 2027: Dates, Tickets & What Happens When

The short answer

Lollapalooza has not announced its 2027 Chicago dates. That's normal for late summer — the festival usually lets one edition cool off before it says anything about the next. What it has done, every recent year, is return to Grant Park on the same stretch of calendar: the four days that land on or around the last full weekend of July. Follow that pattern forward and the 2027 edition points at Thursday, July 29 through Sunday, August 1, 2027 — which is exactly what most festival calendars are penciling in. Treat it as a strong guess, not a booking confirmation. When the festival confirms real dates, this page gets updated.

How the announcement cycle has actually run

The useful thing about Lollapalooza is that its calendar is boringly consistent, which makes it plannable. The 2026 edition is a clean example of the rhythm:

  • Mid-March: the full lineup drops at once. The 2026 lineup — Lorde, Charli XCX, The Smashing Pumpkins, Tate McRae, JENNIE, John Summit, Olivia Dean, and The xx up top — was announced on March 17, 2026. The 2025 lineup landed in the same mid-March window a year earlier. Lollapalooza does not do the tease-one-artist-a-week thing; you get the whole poster in one shot.
  • Two days later: tickets. For 2026, passes went on sale March 19 — with the lowest-priced 4-day tickets available for exactly one hour, 10 to 11 AM Central, before prices stepped up for the general on-sale. If cost matters to you, that one-hour window is the single most valuable thing to have on your calendar, and it is very easy to miss if you hear about the lineup a day late.
  • Festival week: set times. The day-by-day schedule — actual set times, actual stage assignments — historically arrives only days before gates open, published as poster images. In 2026 the final schedule was in hand the week of the festival. This is why serious planning happens in two waves: artists in March, logistics in late July.

What we can already tell you about tickets

Lollapalooza sells through Front Gate Tickets, its longtime primary seller, in tiered waves — each price level sells out and the next costs more, so earlier is cheaper, always. For resale, the festival's sanctioned route is Ticketmaster's Verified Exchange, where tickets get reissued in the buyer's name; StubHub and SeatGeek carry secondary listings without that reissue step. None of that is expected to change for 2027, and our tickets explainerwalks through what each of those terms actually means before you're staring at a checkout timer.

What this site will do when 2027 goes live

Fesnova's Lollapalooza 2026 section stays up as the record of last year — all 171 artist profiles, the complete set-time schedule as it was played, and the editorial guides. When the 2027 lineup lands, the same machinery gets rebuilt around it: verified artist profiles for the full bill, a searchable lineup, day-by-day guides, and the schedule builder loaded with real set times as soon as the posters drop. Until then, the 2026 archive is the best available picture of how a modern Lolla weekend is shaped — 8 stages, roughly 45 sets a day, music from noon to the 10 PM city curfew.

Questions people are already asking

Is Lollapalooza 2027 confirmed to happen? The festival has run at Grant Park every year since 2005 (2020's pandemic year aside) under a long-term agreement with the city, and there has been no signal of that changing. But “expected” is the honest word until the announcement.

When should I book a hotel? If you already know you're going, the calendar math above is what you have to work with — most downtown hotels allow free cancellation, which is how experienced attendees hedge a July weekend before dates are official.

Will headliners leak early?Rumors circulate every winter; the reliable answer arrives in mid-March, all at once. Anything before that is speculation, including from us — which is why this page doesn't carry a rumored-lineup section.
