Will Putney writes and plays guitar on Fit For An Autopsy's records and hasn't toured with the band in about a decade. That split is the whole design. Tim Howley joined roughly ten years ago to take Putney's place on the road, and Putney stayed home at Graphic Nature Audio, his studio in Kinnelon, New Jersey, where he has also produced bands such as Northlane, Night Verses and Body Count.
"I'm the guy at home," he told Revolver in 2024. "I handle a lot of creative stuff; they just smash it on tour." He also said he couldn't turn down the chance to be part of "everybody's band" as a producer, and that Fit alone wasn't enough of an outlet.
The touring band is Joe Bad on vocals, Pat Sheridan and Tim Howley on guitar, Peter Spinazola on bass and Josean Orta on drums. They've been working this deathcore-and-then-some approach since 2008.
The Nothing That Is, released October 25, 2024 on Nuclear Blast, was produced by Putney at his own studio and is the bleakest thing in the catalog, with no hopeful takeaway anywhere on it. Revolver summed up its view of humanity as "ruinous roaches." "Hostage" deals with not being able to escape your past or your future. It followed Oh What the Future Holds (2022). In fall 2026 the band joined Trivium's Crown In The Grave tour of North America alongside In Flames and Frozen Soul.
