Till Lindemann has fronted Rammstein since the band formed in Berlin in 1994, writing its German lyrics and becoming, for most of the world, its face. Work outside the group began with Lindemann, a duo with Swedish producer Peter Tägtgren that put out Skills in Pills on Warner in 2015 and F & M on Universal in 2019. Tägtgren left in November 2020, and Lindemann kept going under his own name: the single "Ich hasse Kinder" in 2021, then Zunge, an album he released himself on November 3, 2023, with music written and produced by Sky van Hoff. A reissue, Zunge 2025, added nine tracks.

Since then the solo project has turned into a touring operation of its own. His first North American solo tour opened in San Antonio on September 17, 2024 and took in the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with Twin Temple and Aesthetic Perfection supporting. He signed to Out Of Line in early 2025 and spent late 2025 on the Meine Welt arena tour through seventeen countries. A December 1, 2025 show at Kraków's TAURON Arena became Live in Kraków, a concert film and album released in September 2026 and the first live record under his own name. The March 2026 single "Es brennt" came with alternate versions by Slaughter to Prevail's Alex Terrible and Paradise Lost's Greg Mackintosh.
