Play Boy, the 14-song album Jason Scott & The High Heat released September 18, 2026, on Leo33, draws a lot on where Scott came from: a Pentecostal home, years as a preacher-in-training, and a crisis of faith after that. He produced it with Taylor Johnson, a former member of the band, at studios in Oklahoma City and Norman. Song titles include "Willie, Waylon & Waltzes" and "If Heaven Had A Honky Tonk."

The Oklahoma City five-piece came up on the Red Dirt club circuit. Their debut, Castle Rock, named for the Colorado town where Scott lived and started recording in his backyard studio, was supposed to come out in March 2020 with a release party the night the Thunder-Jazz game was called off as Covid hit; it sat on a shelf for more than a year. They picked the name at Mile 0 Fest in Key West in 2021. Guitarist Gabriel Mor says it's a baseball reference. American Grin followed in 2025, with "Me and the Bottle (Hungover You)" as the song they save for the end of the set.

Most of them work other jobs in the business; Scott played the lead in the video for Jason Isbell's "King of Oklahoma." In 2026 they made their Grand Ole Opry debut in June and opened shows on Morgan Wallen's Still The Problem Tour.
