Journey, Pitbull and David Lee Roth are all on the 2027 Stagecoach bill as crossover bookings, but Kelly Clarkson doesn't really belong in that group. She's from Fort Worth, Texas, and her country credits go back almost two decades.
In 2007 she recut her own "Because of You" as a duet with Reba McEntire for Reba: Duets. A few years later she sang on Jason Aldean's "Don't You Wanna Stay," which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs in March 2011, her first country chart-topper. Both duets drew Grammy nominations, and the CMA put her up for Female Vocalist of the Year in 2012.
Most people met her somewhere else, obviously. She won the first season of American Idol in 2002, signed with RCA and released her debut album, Thankful. Then "Since U Been Gone" and Breakaway made her a pop-rock staple; both won Grammys at the 2006 ceremony, and Stronger took Best Pop Vocal Album in 2013. That's three wins from 17 nominations.
Lately it's been television more than records. The Kelly Clarkson Show ran seven seasons from 2019, collected 24 Daytime Emmys and signed off August 31, 2026, after she decided to step back to spend more time with her kids. Onstage there was a Las Vegas run at Planet Hollywood in 2023 and 2024, then Studio Sessions at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting in 2025. This is her first Stagecoach. She plays Sunday, the night Garth Brooks closes the festival, and Taste of Country pointed out she's friends with Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. No duet has been announced.
