Geese started as five high schoolers at Brooklyn Friends School and Little Red School House, recording songs at home well before any label knew they existed — Emily Green, Max Bassin, Cameron Winter, Dominic DiGesu, and Foster Hudson, all friends since freshman year, whose demos somehow triggered a bidding situation that ended with a joint UK/US deal on PIAS and Partisan. Projector, their 2021 debut, arrived while some of them were barely out of their teens.
3D Country, their 2023 follow-up, folded doses of '70s classic rock into their post-punk base — a stranger, more expansive record than most sophomore albums attempt.
Getting Killed, produced by Kenny Beats in 2025, pushed further still — enough that both Stereogum and The New Yorker named it their album of the year, a strange kind of consensus for a band that started as a high school project.
