Kyle Siemon found Porch Light's singer at a karaoke night — he heard Jackie Uhas perform Paramore's "Ain't It Fun" at Como Tap and asked her to join the band he was forming with two reconnected high school friends, Zac Fogarty and Isaiah Trimbo.
They took their name literally, rehearsing that first summer of 2024 on the porch of Fogarty's Dinkytown house, and the speed of what followed was almost unfair to older bands still waiting for a break: a sold-out 7th St Entry show, a First Avenue Best New Bands nod, and a debut EP, all inside their first year together.
