"Carrying the Club" landed in August 2025 to a very mixed reception from country fans. Flo Rida built it on the chorus of George Strait's 1997 hit "Carrying Your Love With Me" and handed verses to Cooper Alan, a social-media personality turned country singer, and the pop-country artist Shaylen. On TikTok one fan joked it could be a senior-class song; another accused him of elder abuse against Strait.
It wasn't a one-off. In 2022 he opened Walker Hayes's "High Heels" and sang its chorus, with Hayes taking the second verse, and he followed that with "No Bad Days" alongside Jimmie Allen.
The pop résumé underneath is long. "In the Ayer," with will.i.am, was his second top 10, in 2008. He has five Grammy nominations, among them Best Rap Album for R.O.O.T.S. and an Album of the Year nod as a featured artist on Lady Gaga's The Fame, and Billboard counts 29 Hot 100 entries, 11 of them top 10s.
Cooper Alan, one of the voices on "Carrying the Club," made his Great New York State Fair debut on August 27, 2026, and Flo Rida was booked on the fair's schedule three nights later.
