The Basics

Gates open at noon each day. Music start times vary by day, and no 2027 end time has been published. In 2025, the city's event permit required amplified sound to stop by 11 PM, and each night closed with fireworks that finished at 11. Use that as a planning guide, not a promise.

It's all ages, with conditions. Anyone 17 or under has to be with a ticket-holding adult over 21. Children 5 and under get in free with a pass-holding parent or guardian, while supplies last, with no more than two per adult. Buying alcohol takes a physical, government-issued photo ID: school IDs, expired IDs, photos or photocopies and digital IDs are all refused. The festival is cashless. Re-entry is allowed; the FAQ's entire answer is "Yes. But why would you want to leave?"

Wristbands and Pass Tiers

There are no single-day tickets. Every pass is a physical three-day wristband, in General Admission, Party Pit, VIP, Super VIP, Livin' the Dream and cabana tiers; Super VIP, Livin' the Dream and the cabanas were sold out when we checked. Prices are all-in, including taxes and beach restoration fees, and a payment plan starts at 25% down.

Every tier gets roaming between the two stages, swimming at designated beach spots, shaded seating, free water refill stations and flushing toilets. Party Pit adds a standing area at the front of the Main Stage, but only for the final three Main Stage performances each day. VIP is the first tier that changes how the heat feels: front-of-stage areas at both stages, a beach club with dipping pools, shaded loungers and misting coolers, private air-conditioned restrooms, a complimentary bar and its own entry lane at every entrance.

Wristbands ship by UPS Mail Innovations from April 2027, and address changes close March 31. Get the official app: the FAQ says registration instructions arrive when wristbands ship. Orders are capped at eight passes per household, all sales are final, and the festival won't service passes bought from a third party or scalper.

Pro Tip

Resale sites carry single-day "pass only" listings and parking passes for this festival. Neither matches an official product: the festival sells no single-day tickets and runs no parking lot.

Getting There Without Parking

Sand in My Boots doesn't operate a public parking lot and says parking near the site is extremely limited. The official options are walking, the shuttle or rideshare. Pedestrian walkways run along Beach Boulevard and Highway 59, and each entrance has bike parking.

The 2027 shuttle pass is $77 including tax, good on any line all weekend, and $10 cheaper bundled with a festival pass. Shuttles run from each day's start until 30 minutes after the music ends. The North Line serves the Hampton Inn Gulf Shores and the Pelican Place Park & Ride. The West Line runs from Pier 33, Waves Market and West 13th Street, the stop closest to the Sanibel condos. The East Line has nine stops reaching into Orange Beach, from The Lodge and the Gulf State Park Pavilion Park & Ride to a Park & Ride at The Gulf restaurant. Driving in from out of town, those three Park & Ride stops are where to start.

Rideshare is listed, but no pickup or drop-off zone has been published yet. Don't plan on arriving by boat either: a 500-foot no-boating zone is enforced offshore.

What to Bring and What's Banned

Bags must be clear and no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches; a one-gallon clear zip-top bag, fanny pack, hand-sized clutch or empty single-pocket hydration pack with a removable clear bladder also works, and every bag is searched. Sunscreen and bug spray must be liquid, non-aerosol and in containers of 3 ounces or less. Bring an empty non-glass bottle up to 2 liters for the refill stations, a hat, sunglasses, and a blanket or towel no bigger than 30 by 70 inches.

The banned list reads like an inventory of normal beach gear: chairs of any kind, inflatable loungers included; umbrellas, parasols and tents; coolers; hammocks; kites; water guns; and outside food and drink. You can't reserve space on the sand. Strollers are for infants and toddlers only, with no wagons, and pets and emotional support animals stay home.

Swimming, Sand and Heat

Every pass includes swimming in the Gulf at designated beach access spots. In 2025, the city's permit described those spots as monitored by lifeguards; the 2027 site doesn't say yet. Gulf Place is one of the city's protected swimming areas, with seasonal lifeguards from March through October. Read the flags: yellow is moderate surf or currents, red is high hazard, purple is marine pests such as jellyfish. Double red means the water is closed, and inside Gulf Shores it's illegal to enter the Gulf under double red, with a fine and possible arrest. The National Weather Service notes that rip currents often form on calm, sunny days. For daily conditions, call 251-968-SURF or text ALBEACHES to 888-777.

For temperature, the nearest NOAA 1991–2020 climate normals come from two coastal stations about 23 miles either side of the site. For May 21–23, Dauphin Island to the west averages highs near 82°F and lows near 73°F; Pensacola Naval Air Station to the east averages highs near 84°F and lows in the mid-60s. Billboard's on-site review of 2025 described an 80-degree Saturday and no weather delays. That's mild, but a beach has little natural shade and the umbrellas you'd normally bring are banned, so use the shaded seating and refill often.

There's no official footwear rule; Gulf Shores' tourism office suggests sandals or flip-flops. In 2025 there were outdoor showers on site. The festival runs rain or shine.

Accessibility

The Access Center is next to Guest Services inside the North entrance on Gulf Shores Parkway. There's no pre-registration: go there for an Access Program wristband for you and one companion, which you need for the accessible viewing areas. Those are first come, first served, and a seat left empty for 30 minutes or more can be reassigned. Every entrance has an Access Lane.

Be realistic about the terrain. Accessible routes link entrances, viewing areas, restrooms, merch and food, but staff can't give personal assistance on the beach itself. Mobility devices are welcome, none are for rent, and charging at the Access Center needs your own cord; golf carts and e-bikes are prohibited. The offsite shuttles are accessible, but there's no accessible shuttle inside the grounds, and the location of the placard-only accessible drop-off lot hasn't been announced. Request ASL interpretation by April 23, 2027. During the festival, text SIMB to 844-556-6998 to reach a person; before then, email accesshelp@sandinmybootsfest.com.

Planning Around a Lineup With No Day Split

As of November 6, 2026, the festival hasn't split the lineup by day, assigned stages or posted set times. Every wristband covers all three days, so that changes how you plan, not what you buy. What's confirmed is the bill: Wallen, Ella Langley and Kings of Leon on top, then a roster that runs well past country, from Kygo and Nelly to a Southern rap run of Gucci Mane, Juicy J and Project Pat.

There's also more music than the two main stages. '98 Braves Park, one of several areas named after Wallen songs, has shade, games, music from Whiskey Jam and what the festival calls second sets from Sand in My Boots artists. Which artists get one hasn't been announced.

Use the wait to learn the bill. Browse the full lineup, star your non-negotiables from who to see, and dig deeper with the undercard picks and the genre guide. When the festival posts the day split and set times, we'll add them to our set times page and the schedule builder.

Reality Check

The official FAQ says not every listed artist is guaranteed to be seen and advises arriving early for must-see acts. On a beach that matters more than usual: you can't hold a spot with a chair, and reserving space on the sand is banned.

The Bottom Line

A first Sand in My Boots comes down to three decisions: how you'll reach a beach with no festival parking, how much shade you want to pay for, and what fits in a 12-by-6-by-12 clear bag. Book the shuttle or a room within walking distance, carry a physical ID and a card, pack small liquid sunscreen, and check the flag before you swim. More answers are in our Sand in My Boots 2027 FAQ, and how the Hangout Music Festival's beach became Wallen's festival is in our history.
