Ella Langley comes from Hope Hull, a rural stretch outside Montgomery, Alabama. She gave Auburn two years of forestry classes, lost them to music, and moved to Nashville in 2019. A clip of "If You Have To," shot in a car, went viral in 2021; in February 2023 she debuted on the Grand Ole Opry and signed with Sony Music Nashville and Columbia about a week later.

Her debut album, hungover, followed in August 2024. Its Riley Green duet, "you look like you love me," hit No. 1 on Country Airplay that December, won the CMA for Musical Event of the Year, then took Song and Single of the Year a year later.

Then "Choosin' Texas." She wrote it with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor, put it out in October 2025, and by February it was No. 1 on the Hot 100, the first single by a woman to top that chart, Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay at once. It has since logged more weeks at No. 1 than any song in the chart's history. Dandelion, 18 songs, opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 that April with 169,000 units, and the ACMs handed her seven trophies in May.

Morgan Wallen runs through the rest. Their duet "I Can't Love You Anymore" debuted at No. 7 on the Hot 100 in May, and she opened eight of his Still the Problem stadium shows, starting at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Her own Dandelion Tour ran from Toledo in May to Saint Paul on Halloween. At the first Sand in My Boots, in 2025, she played her own set and also joined Riley Green during his to sing "Don't Mind If I Do."
