Before any of this, Dylan Gossett had a job at Circuit of the Americas, taken mostly because he loved Formula 1. He'd picked up guitar in middle school, teaching himself off YouTube with tips from his older brother, and kept playing through Texas A&M. In the summer of 2023 he posted snippets of a song called "Coal" to TikTok, a young graduate's frustration packed into one line about pressure and diamonds, and the reaction pushed him to finish it at home. That song is now double platinum in the U.S., The New York Times put it among the year's best country songs, and after the self-recorded No Better Time EP he signed with Big Loud Texas and Mercury Records in November 2023. He left the racetrack job.
Songs in the Gravel came in 2024, then Westward in 2025, a debut album he wrote and produced himself. Ramblin', out September 25, 2026, is the tighter record at 12 tracks, and it's openly about coming home: he'd moved back to Austin, "Headed Back to Austin" sits at the center of it, and that spring he'd released "My Boy" for the birth of his first child. He's opened for George Strait, Zach Top, Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers and The Red Clay Strays, and spent fall 2026 co-headlining with Charles Wesley Godwin before headline dates in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
