Sertanejo is Brazil's country music, and Gustavo Mioto has been one of its steadier hitmakers for about a decade. Born in 1997 in Votuporanga, São Paulo, he recorded his first EP at 15 and broke through nationally in the mid-2010s, with Brazilian press pointing to "Solitário" and "Impressionando os Anjos" as the songs that did it. "Com ou Sem Mim" went further: O Povo reported it as the most-listened song of 2020, ahead of tracks by Marília Mendonça and Gusttavo Lima. He writes his own material, mostly about love and heartbreak, and he's recorded with Anitta and the duo Henrique & Juliano.

He marked ten years as a professional in 2023 with 10 Anos Ao Vivo em Recife, a live project with nine new songs, eleven re-recordings and guests Léo Santana and Don Juan, released in two parts. In the same O Povo interview he called sertanejo too formulaic, a genre that repeats itself because it sells, named Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Michael Bublé and American country music as his main references, and said the big dream was an international career.
