Early-2010s dubstep ran on remixes: take a song people already loved, keep the melody, drop it into half-time. Adventure Club were among the best at it. Leighton James and Christian Srigley, two Montreal kids with pop-punk roots, started the project in 2011, and their rework of Flight Facilities' "Crave You" is still, by their own account, the most popular thing in their catalog. Originals "Crash" and "Wonder" moved them from remix act to headliner, their debut album, Red // Blue, followed in 2016, and their remix of Kehlani's "Undercover" earned a 2018 Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording. There are two Juno nominations in there too.
Ubbi Dubbi crowds have seen them before, in 2023 and again in 2025, and this time they're one of four acts billed for a sunset set. The second album, Love // Chaos (2022), pushed the heavy and soft sides of their sound further apart, and lately they've leaned into their own history with a Throwback Tour, putting out a full Throwback Tour set recorded live at Mission Ballroom. New remixes keep coming regardless, most recently Gesaffelstein & Brodinski's "Control Movement" in August 2026. Superheroes Anonymous, their monthly mix show, reached episode 22 at the end of October.
