Mickman — Cameron Ingraham — works out of Peoria, Illinois, which is about as far from bass music's usual coastal or Colorado hubs as it gets, and that rural distance shows up in the music itself: an ambient-leaning, unhurried dubstep hybrid that doesn't chase the genre's usual aggression. He came up as an audio technician working with Funktion-One sound systems before he was known as a producer at all, and his first show, back in 2008, was The Prodigy at Boston's House of Blues.
Reclaimed, his first full-length in five years, is a tribute to his late mother and family — a quieter, more personal record than the festival sets alongside artists like Tipper and Jade Cicada that built his reputation in the first place.
