Kim Theory's name started as a one-off school project — Audrey Cymone and Lula Seifert covered songs by Kim Gordon, Kim Shattuck, and Kim Deal for a Women's History Month assembly in middle school, and when they eventually formed an actual band years later, they just kept the name. Zoey Su joined from a shared music program, and Lucy Fraser came in on bass after a run of other players.
Bitch Scene, their four-song debut EP, was produced by punk legend Paul Roessler at his Kitten Robot Studios and came out in November 2025, and Bratmobile — actual first-generation riot grrrl royalty — reposted the band's cover of 'Gimme Brains' and brought them onstage at a sold-out Belasco show, a real co-sign for a band that started as a school project.
