Manolo Cabrera and Hugo Lara met in high school in Mexico City and traded tracks informally for years before deciding they'd actually found a shared sound worth putting a name to.
Their backgrounds pulled from opposite directions — Lara came up through classical violin training, Cabrera got into production after a Tomorrowland set convinced him dance music could be made from a bedroom — and a joint track with Tom & Collins is what crystallized the two into RØZ as an actual act.
"Apaga la Luz," their 2025 single with Peso Pluma, blends regional Mexican music with house production and helped push the duo past 30 million streams; mañana, temprano, the debut EP that followed that December, moves through reggaeton, bachata, and techno with the same genre-agnostic instinct that got them there.
