Julia Wolf's debut album is named after a moment that almost didn't happen — her father had just sold their house to move the family to Italy and start a business together when he got a 'gut feeling' they needed to stay in Queens instead, even though, as she's pointed out, no music of hers existed yet to justify that instinct. Good Thing We Stayed, the 2023 album that resulted, is literally about her father believing in a career she hadn't built yet.
'In My Room,' her 2025 breakout single, passed 41 million streams and pushed her toward a darker goth aesthetic on the follow-up album, PRESSURE, released that May — a songwriter who trained classically on piano and studied at SUNY Purchase before ending up posting freestyle clips from her childhood bedroom.
