Snow Strippers met in Los Angeles in 2018 but didn't actually form as a duo until 2021, in Detroit, right as an online indie-sleaze revival was giving early-2000s electroclash a second life — Tatiana Schwaninger and Graham Perez built their sound directly out of that moment, all bleary electro-pop and witch-house murk. They self-released everything at first: a self-titled 2022 debut, a run of mixtapes, before signing to Evilgiane's Surf Gang and Diplo's Mad Decent in 2023.
That same year, Lil Uzi Vert brought them in for 'Fire Alarm,' a co-sign that pulled them out of the extremely online scene that had built them and into rooms most bedroom-produced duos don't reach this fast.
