156/Silence come out of Pittsburgh, and the records have changed shape every time: the frantic Undercover Scumbag in 2018, the technical Irrational Pull in 2020, then Narrative in 2022 on SharpTone. People Watching, in 2024, was where guitarist and main songwriter Jimmy Howell says they finally tried choruses and hooks. In 2025 the band put out "Our Parting Ways" as a tribute to longtime bassist Lukas Booker, who died unexpectedly that year. From a Distance, their first album for Pure Noise, followed on September 4, 2026, produced by Josh Schroeder. A sample from Severance opens it, Jack Murray's lyrics take on celebrity worship and intrusive thoughts, and Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada, Alex Reade of Make Them Suffer and Tony Castrati of Crippling Alcoholism all guest.
