Rise Records in the early 2010s was full of post-hardcore bands mixing in electronic production, and Palisades from Iselin, New Jersey, leaned into that harder than most, with a turntablist and samples on top of the breakdowns. They made five albums for the label between Outcasts in 2013 and Reaching Hypercritical in 2022. Singer Lou Miceli Jr. left in 2021, and bassist Brandon Elgar took over lead vocals for that last record, then left late in 2022 himself. In January 2023 the band announced it was done, and the farewell show that February at House of Independents in Asbury Park brought Miceli back for one night.
That one night didn't stick as a goodbye. In September 2026 Palisades released "nEverclear," their first song with Miceli since he left, and they booked the Wellmont Theater in Montclair for January 30, 2027, to mark ten years of their self-titled album.
