Saosin's history is mostly a history of singers. Guitarist Beau Burchell started the band in Orange County in 2003 with Anthony Green, whose voice on that year's Translating the Name EP is still how a lot of people first heard them. Green left the next year.

Cove Reber took over for the 2006 self-titled album on Capitol and 2009's In Search of Solid Ground, then left, and things went quiet until a reunion that eventually produced Along the Shadow (2016) on Epitaph, with Green back at the mic.

The band playing Thursday is the Reber version. He officially rejoined in 2024, Saosin signed with Sumerian Records, and on April 14, 2026 they released "Starting Over Again," their first new music in more than a decade, which the band said came from fans asking for it. Dates in Australia and New Zealand and a fall run across the U.S. followed. That May, the RIAA certified the 2006 self-titled album gold, twenty years after it came out.
