Tough Love, the debut EP Elizabeth Nichols put out in June 2025, came out before most people outside Nashville knew her name. Since then the songs that keep spreading are the wry ones, "Trailer Treasure" and "Somebody Cooked Here," the kind of sideways observation about modern life that gets her compared to Kacey Musgraves. "Mama," meanwhile, has quietly passed 7.5 million streams.

She was born in Texas, raised in Kentucky, and went to school in Oklahoma and Australia before landing in Nashville. Sam Barber picked her to co-write his song "Morning Time." Through 2025 she opened for Wyatt Flores, Little Big Town and Russell Dickerson, and played the Bluebird Cafe, CMA Fest and the Kentucky Derby, all while signed to the independent PULSE Records.

2026 brought a single, "Sweet Cigarette," a C2C debut in March, and her first headlining show, which sold out the day tickets went on sale. By December her tour calendar has her at the Lexington Opera House and the Louisville Palace, back in the state she grew up in.
