Country Central has pegged Hudson Westbrook as a possible leader of a new generation of Texas country singers, and his roots fit the description: Stephenville, raised on George Strait, Turnpike Troubadours, Parker McCollum, Koe Wetzel and Tracy Lawrence. Nobody in his family played music, though; his mom and uncle work in oil and gas, and he only picked up guitar in high school during Covid. "Take It Slow," written on his phone on a slow day at work, went viral in 2024 while he was a freshman at Texas Tech, working at a feed store and planning to become a landman.

"House Again," a waltz about growing up with divorced parents that he wrote with Dan Alley and Neil Medley, was his first single to country radio. On February 9, 2026, it reached No. 1 on the Mediabase country chart, making him the youngest solo male to top country radio with a debut single. It was the lead single from Texas Forever, his 17-song 2025 debut on River House Artists and Warner Music Nashville, and it has gone Platinum.

The five-song Exclusive EP came in January 2026, and that spring he went out supporting George Strait, Bailey Zimmerman and Morgan Wallen. His first headline show, at Cook's in Texas, had drawn 1,800 people.
