3BALLMTY's sunset set isn't their first Texas booking in recent memory. Their 2025 La Vuelta Tour, the group's first U.S. run since the 2014 Honda Civic Tour, stopped in Dallas, San Antonio, McAllen and Houston. The trio formed in Monterrey in 2009, three DJs, Erick Rincón, Sergio "Sheeqo Beat" Zavala and Alberto "DJ Otto" Presenda, working a style called tribal guarachero that took shape in clubs like Monterrey's Arcoiris, where tribal got folded into the city's old love of Colombian cumbia. "Inténtalo" put El Bebeto and América Sierra on vocals over what had been strictly instrumental music, and in 2012 it went to No. 1 on Billboard's Latin chart for two non-consecutive weeks. A Latin Grammy for Best New Artist came with it.

Rincón left for a few years; the 2025 tour had all three back, and he said going in that they'd always dreamed of being DJs at festivals like EDC. That's where they've been heading: EDC México, a Boiler Room set past 3.5 million views. Deorro, also on this lineup, is the obvious link. He brought them out at EDC México in February 2025, put them on his 2026 album BOTAS & RAVE, and guested at the sold-out Hollywood Palladium launch of their Club Conexión Tour that June. "Inténtalo," meanwhile, picked up a second life on TikTok, and Sheeqo Beat says it's the song people still play "at weddings and 15 años."
