TVBOO is Mitch Draper, pronounced "taboo," and before any of this he was drumming in metal bands around Jackson, Mississippi. BUKU in New Orleans changed that in 2014. A Baauer b2b RL Grime set got him first, and watching Datsick he decided heavy dubstep was basically metal in electronic form.
Jackson had no bass scene, so he made one, throwing shows for about two and a half years that grew from roughly 30 people to 350 and booking acts like the sfam crew. Then he moved to New Orleans, where he and Klutch were the DJs for the city's Emo Night, before saying in 2022 that Denver was next.
The music leans wonky and goofy on purpose, with humorous samples and plenty of Southern humor, and it's come out on WAKAAN, Drama Club and emengy. His debut album, Blue Collar Bass, arrived in October 2022, 15 tracks he wrote in about five months, among them "Bass Music" with GRiZ plus features from Boogie T, Dirt Monkey and Wreckno. He was on the 2024 Ubbi Dubbi lineup, and collaborations with Liquid Stranger and Ganja White Night have followed, along with the TVLKS with TVBOO podcast and a run of headline tours: Daisy Dukes and Cowboy Boots in 2025, Business In The Front, Party In The Back in fall 2026.
