Boys Noize — Alexander Ridha — was DJing at 15 in Hamburg, years before he'd built any kind of production catalog, and by 21 he'd moved to Berlin and founded Boysnoize Records, which he's described as a “non-conformist DIY anarchist collective” rather than a conventional label.

The 2004 single “The Bomb!/Boy Neu” is what actually put him on the map, followed by remixes for Bloc Party, Depeche Mode, and Feist that established him as a producer worth paying attention to beyond his own DJ sets.

Oi Oi Oi, his 2007 debut album, and the records that followed — Out of the Black, +/- — built a genre-blurring catalog of industrial, acid house, and electro that got him named one of Rolling Stone's “Top 10 DJs Who Rule The World” and Beatport's Best Electronic Act three years running.
