Ganja White Night started in the small Belgian town of Mons in 2004, which the duo — Benjamin Bayeul and Charlie Dodson — has said actually worked in their favor: far enough from any major dance-music scene that they built their reggae-inflected wobble sound without copying anyone nearby. A third member, François Volral, was part of the group from 2008 to 2012 before they settled back into a duo.
SubCarbon Records, the label they founded in 2009, has put out twelve albums since their 2010 debut, and the character Mr. Wobble, introduced in 2016 animated videos, has become as recognizable as the music itself.
They relocated from Belgium to Los Angeles in 2019, and in 2026 launched their own festival, Cloud City, at Colorado's Fiddler's Green — a full-circle move for a duo that started this far from any scene at all.
