Philip Kembo grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe, and had a master's degree in Advanced Marketing Management from Lancaster University before he asked his parents' blessing to move to Los Angeles and chase music production instead — a genuinely unusual professional detour, not a childhood-dream-straight-through story.

He built his early career the unglamorous way, cold-emailing beats to industry contacts, and it worked: production and songwriting credits with Sean Paul and Dua Lipa, J Balvin, Camila Cabello, and Pitbull's Grammy-nominated "Hey Ma" followed, along with sound design work on Fast & Furious and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse — six Grammy nominations deep for a producer who started on FL Studio at 13 because a friend showed him how.
