Amber Mark's first two EPs were both directly about grief and its aftermath — 3:33am dealt with her mother's death, Conexão with learning to be open again afterward — before she pulled that into a full debut album, Three Dimensions Deep, in 2022.
Her upbringing moved constantly, through Tennessee, India, and Germany among other places, and her sound reflects it: R&B stretched wide enough to absorb bossa nova and grunge without sounding scattered.
Pretty Idea, her 2025 second album, is a lighter pivot — love in its new, past, and self-directed forms, led by the single 'Let Me Love You' — a deliberate contrast to the grief that ran through her earlier work.
