CORTIS is BigHit Music's first new group in six years — the label behind BTS and Tomorrow X Together hadn't debuted anyone else since 2019 before announcing this five-member act in April 2025.
The name is short for 'Color Outside the Lines,' and it's meant literally: members write their own songs, choreograph their own routines, and shape their own visuals rather than working entirely off a label-built concept.
They debuted that August with the single 'What You Want,' followed by the EP Color Outside the Lines, built around a sound that mixes experimental pop, hip-hop, and electronic production. Martin, a Korean-Canadian, leads the group alongside James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho.
