Mustard was DJing family parties at 11, taught by his uncle, years before 'Rack City,' the Tyga single he produced in 2011, made him a name outside LA — it hit No. 7 on the Hot 100 and No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
YG's My Krazy Life, three years later, is the album that cemented his sound: sparse 808s, a repetitive keyboard hook, an unmistakable bounce that got labeled 'ratchet' whether he liked the term or not. Mustard produced most of the record, including 'My Nigga' and 'Who Do You Love?'
He's since built 10 Summers, his own label under Roc Nation, and picked up a Grammy for producing Ella Mai's 'Boo'd Up.'
