Alexia Rodriguez started Eyes Set To Kill in high school in Arizona, and the name comes from a poem in her journal about a criminal whose "eyes were set to kill." Their full-length debut Reach came out in 2008, and after Century Media signed them in 2012 they made Masks, a record Alexia described as darker and heavier than anything they'd made before.

The main story lately is family. Alexia's sister Anissa, the band's bassist, came back after a few years away, and in 2024 the two were on the road together again, now on Revival Recordings, the label they joined in 2021, playing much of Reach for its 15th anniversary.
