Invent Animate played Sonic Temple in 2025 and come back two years later with new material to show for it. "Fall Like Rain," out on UNFD in April 2026, was their first new music since Heavener in 2023, the second album the Texas band made with singer Marcus Vik after Greyview. Vik has said the song is about a lifelong fight with insomnia and anxiety that got harder, not easier, after he quit drinking a few years back; the chanted refrain is him refusing to let the nightly spiral win. Before festival stages, Columbus knew them from rooms like Park Street Saloon and Skully's.
