Steve Harris started Iron Maiden in East London in 1975, and the band's story breaks in two around 1982. Paul Di'Anno sang on the early records; ex-Samson frontman Bruce Dickinson took over for The Number of the Beast, their third album. Dickinson left in 1993, Blaze Bayley fronted two albums, and then in 1999 Dickinson came back with guitarist Adrian Smith, who'd been gone since 1990. That made them a six-piece, three guitars with Dave Murray and Janick Gers, and it's the lineup that carried them from Brave New World in 2000 to Senjutsu, album seventeen, in 2021. Nicko McBrain played his last show with them in São Paulo at the end of The Future Past Tour, 42 years after he joined.

Run For Your Lives started in May 2025 and is built around one rule: nothing later than 1992's Fear of the Dark. Simon Dawson drums now. The old rotating backdrops are gone too, swapped for a huge video wall; when Loudwire covered the first U.S. date, at a soccer stadium in Harrison, New Jersey, in September 2026, the screen kept shifting to tell the whole story of "Rime of the Ancient Mariner," Eddie lurked in a subway alley during "Killers," a digital Dickinson ran up a path toward a noose in "Hallowed Be Thy Name," and the night closed on "Wasted Years." Then the band added a third and final North American leg for spring 2027, sixteen shows mostly in places the 2026 run skipped, ending with two festival headline slots: Sonic Temple on May 14 and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City two days later.
