Joshua Steele and Shaun Brockhurst have been friends since they were kids, and in 2009 they started Circus Records together, Brockhurst as Doctor P and Steele as Flux Pavilion. Steele has said it was watching Rusko play live that pushed him into producing, and his best-known track, "I Can't Stop," traveled a lot further than dubstep usually did: it soundtracked the Kony 2012 video, turned up in The Great Gatsby and the game SSX, and got sampled by Jay-Z and Kanye West once Steele, who'd thought letting tracks get sampled was corny, actually met them. He plays guitar, saxophone, drums, trumpet and a few others, and back in 2013 he was still writing everything with just a mouse. Tesla, his debut album, came out on Circus in 2015 with RiFF RAFF, Datsik and Excision on it; .wav followed in 2021.
The last two years have mostly been about the old material and the old friendship. In 2025 he and Doctor P put out their first joint album, a self-titled 15-track record on Circus, and toured North America on it into the fall, while Steele released new versions of "I Can't Stop" and "Bass Cannon" after getting control of the masters back. 2026 opened with "Another Level," made with Feed Me and Kill The Noise, then "Goddess" with Adventure Club and Jaira Burns (Adventure Club are on this lineup too) and a b3b with Doctor P and FuntCase at EDC Las Vegas. In March he confirmed a third solo album was in the works, with no title or date announced.
