Cloud Conductor is Rhett Whatley's other side — the same producer behind Daily Bread, but working in ambient, downtempo textures rather than the bass-heavy, live-band sound that's made his main project a Denver institution.

The Cloud Conductor album, self-mixed and mastered at Twin Peaks Studios, came out in July 2016, built during a single summer as a way of serving the die-hard fans who wanted to hear him go deeper and slower than his festival sets usually allow.

A surprise-lineup Cloud Conductor show has sold out venues like The Black Box on its own, evidence that the alter ego has become a real draw rather than a niche side project his main audience mostly ignores.
