Korn get the last day. Sonic Temple 2027 runs Thursday through Sunday, and Korn top the Sunday, May 16 bill. It isn't a first visit, either: Korn were one of the headliners when Sonic Temple ran in 2025, sharing the top line with Metallica and Linkin Park.
The new wrinkle is music. "Reward the Scars," written for the video game Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred, came out in spring 2026 as their first new song in four years, and they debuted it live to a crowd of around 50,000 at Sick New World in Las Vegas. A full album is supposedly close. Munky told Rolling Stone Brasil the band had written almost 40 songs and kept tearing them down and rebuilding them, and by September Ray Luzier's drum tech was saying the record was done.
All of this is still happening without Fieldy. The bassist stepped away in 2021, and Munky has said he'd still call it a hiatus rather than a split.
Go back far enough and you land in Bakersfield, California, with a 1994 self-titled debut that GRAMMY.com credits with pioneering nu-metal. "Freak on a Leash" won the Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video in 2000, "Here to Stay" took Best Metal Performance in 2003, and the band has eight nominations in total.
"Freak on a Leash" keeps finding new audiences on its own. In 2026 it went viral on TikTok through a dance trend tied to Zara Larsson, around the same time Korn announced a UK and European headline run that, by NME's count, takes them across the UK for the first time in over a decade.
