Biscits had already tried and failed at a music career once before this one — as a teenager he made trap and dubstep under the alias Gold Top, played a handful of gigs, and watched the whole thing fizzle out until money got tight enough that he needed an actual job. Three or four years passed with no music at all.
Then, in 2015, he survived a plane engine failure mid-flight, and the fear of it pushed him back into music full time — this time as Biscits, and this time in tech house instead of trap. The pivot worked: releases on Club Sweat, Ultra, Toolroom, and Defected followed, along with millions of monthly Spotify listeners and mentorship from Diplo, Sonny Fodera, Dom Dolla, and Solardo.
