Before any of this, Alison Wonderland — Alexandra Sholler — was a classically trained cellist who played with the Sydney Youth Opera, then a bass guitarist in local indie rock bands, which is not the typical résumé for an EDM producer. She didn't release her debut single, 'Get Ready,' until 2013, and signed to EMI Music Australia the following year.
Three albums followed in steady succession — Run in 2015, Awake in 2018, Loner in 2022 — each topping the US and Australian dance charts and cracking the Australian albums top ten, a run of commercial consistency that's rare for an artist who started this far outside dance music's usual pipeline.
Ghost World, her fourth album, arrived in December 2025. She's the highest-billed female DJ in Coachella's history, and unlike a lot of artists in her genre, she talks about mental health onstage and in interviews rather than around it.
