Ayybo — Aaron Bonnema — got his sense of rhythm from the Anaheim high school drumline before he ever touched production software, and it was car rides with his dad, not the ska scene that dominated his hometown, that actually introduced him to house music through Outkast and the Chemical Brothers. That combination shows up in his sets: a jazz-and-hip-hop-trained sense of groove applied to tech house.
He founded his own label, GDB Records, released tracks like 'RIZZ' and 'BASS GLIDE,' and has picked up support from John Summit, Pete Tong, and Dom Dolla. He also sings on several of his own tracks, which is uncommon in a genre where the producer usually stays behind the boards entirely.
