Juuso Malin and Sandra Tervonen didn't start as Pearly Drops — Malin had already spent a decade in Femme en Fourrure, a band Tervonen joined in 2013, before the two of them decided they needed an entirely fresh concept rather than another chapter of an existing project.
That reset became Pearly Drops in 2019, and Call for Help, their 2020 debut album, set the template that's held since: ethereal vocals over dreamy, precise synths and percussion, with Malin and Tervonen writing, producing, and performing everything themselves, down to directing their own videos and styling.
They've also written for other artists — ALMA and Nightwave among them — earning gold and platinum credits and Finland's Teosto Prize along the way, and The Voices Are Coming Back, their third album, arrived in August 2025 as the fullest version yet of the sound they built from scratch six years earlier.
