Between Friends started with a shared childhood in Laurel Canyon and a failed reality-show audition — Brandon and Savannah Hudson tried out for America's Got Talent in 2013 and got eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Two years later they started a Warped Tour band called The Heirs, which fell apart in 2017; Between Friends, formed the same year with the Heirs' former drummer, is the version that actually stuck.
'Affection,' their 2018 breakout, has passed 210 million streams, and the siblings now pull more than two million monthly Spotify listeners — proof that the version of a musical career built on failed auditions and a broken-up Warped Tour band can still work out, just slower than expected.
